He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Keller and Laura Iduna Clayton Stephens; and his siblings, Edward Stephens, Larry Rogers Stephens, Sammy Stephens, John Stephens and Valeria Stephens Welch (Veedie).

He is survived by: his son Stanley A. "Stan" Stephens (Susie); his grandchildren, Tracy Buras (Jaye), Allen Stephens and Lindsey Stephens; and his close friend Barbara Garrett.
