He is survived by: his wife Katherine Gailey Smith; and his siblings, Hugh Smith of Fountain Inn, SC, Susan Elsken of Augusta, GA and Phyllis Sams (Robert) of Easley, SC. He is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews and sixteen great-nieces and nephews.
