She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Lee McGowan and Hattie Oglesby McGowan; her husband Kenneth of Washington; and her siblings-in-law, Geneva McGowan, Vonetta Valentine, Dorothy Bell Jackson, Harold of Washington, Murrie Bell, Earlia Donaldson, Curtis Brownlee and James Hatten.
She is survived by: her children, Rochelle Bates (Tito Smith) of Due West, SC, Kenneth, Jr. (Shawn) of Columbia, SC and Kelvin of Anderson, SC; her grandchildren, LeChelsea, Javin, Nailychaia, Keon, Leanna, James and Kelsii; her siblings, Lucille Donaldson, Addie Lae Brownlee, Sheila Terry, Melissa Martin of Antreville, SC, Mary Ann Hatten of Anderson, SC and James McGowan of Anderson, SC; her siblings-in-law, Vivian Joan Mays of Due West, SC and Gerald Terry of Antreville, SC; and her siblings, Cora Lee, Margaret Ann Cunningham, Eva Mae Martin, Homer Cunningham and Timothy Harkness. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
