She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey David Hulon and Cherry Helen Fairfax Hulon; her husband Howard McLain Matthews, Jr.; and her siblings, Josephine McLellan, Florence Hood, Beatrice Smith, Sherwood Hulon and Thedis Hulon.
She is survived by: her children, David Matthews (Tammie) of Spartanburg, SC, Elaine Winkeler (Robin) of Dillon and Jeff Matthews (Lisa) of Dillon; her grandchildren, Jessica Westbrooks (Luke), Bryan Matthews (Emmy), Matt Winkeler (Keely) and Ethan Winkeler (Allayne); her great grandchildren, Lillie Winkeler, Lain Winkeler, Noah Winkeler and Jack Winkeler; and her sister Janet Holder of Dillon.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pyerian Baptist Church (2813 Pyerian Rd, Latta, SC 29565). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
