It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Jeanette Shankle of Dillon, South Carolina, born in Laurel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Laura Jeanette is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam M. Norton and Lula Bolton Norton; and her husband Lemmie Harold Shankle, Jr.. She is survived by: her son Ernie Shankle; and her daughter-in-law Sharon of Dillon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home (209 Black Branch Rd, Dillon, SC 29536). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Perpetual Care Cemetery (2450 US-301, Dillon, SC 29536).
