It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mantha Baxter of Denmark, South Carolina, born in Ruffin, South Carolina, who passed away on January 20, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Taylor; her spouse Shirley Edward Baxter of Denmark, SC; her daughters, Libby Brueck and Jackie Peeples; and her siblings, Woodrow Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Gladys Wilson, Dorothy Thomas, Mary Jane McClellan and Clara Murdaugh.
She is survived by: her mother Veleria Walling Taylor; and her children, Mike Baxter (Kay) of Hanahan, SC, Joe Baxter (Marcia) of Columbia, SC, Ed Baxter of Brighton, David Baxter (Suzi) of Lexington, SC, Parniece Dawson (Toppy) of Hanahan, SC, Nancy Bennett (Ted) of Evansville, Debbie Royson (Butch) of Ridgeway, SC and Sandra Deming (David) of Irmo, SC. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place; facemasks are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be given in Mantha's memory to your local church or your favorite charity.
