She was predeceased by: her husband John "Mac" Proveaux; her son Ellerbe Hightower, III; and her siblings, Jerry Zorn and Joan Zorn Still. She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Linda Bickley Hightower; her grandchildren, Paul Hightower (Whitney) and Sonya Hobby (Gerald); her niece Rhonda Still (Jim Bullock); and her nephew Warren Still (Donna).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Baptist Church of Denmark Home Bound Ministry in her honor.
