He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Jackson Garris and Lorena Weatherford Garris; his wife Martha W. Garris; his siblings, Thomas Garris, Lonnie Garris and Peggy G. Dickerson; and his granddaughter Tabitha Kimrey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Garris Munn (Frankie) and Sonya Garris Gandy; his grandchildren, Mark Kelly (Crystal), Robyn Beacham (CJ) and Matt Gandy (Heather); his great grandchildren, Seth Heath (Ramsie), Brianna Broach (Bryson Dorriety), Tristan McCracken, Jimmy Kelly, Shyanne Gandy, Chloe Gandy, Lara Kelly, Levi Gandy and John Gainey; his great great grandchild Brantlee Heath; the mother of his children Jeanette W. Yow; his stepchildren, Carol Smith (Tommy), Michael Meggs (Dawn) and Karen Jeffries (Terry); and his close friend Patty Speder.
