He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Watkins and Barbara Floyd Watkins; his wife Virginia Marie Watkins; and his son-in-law James Smith. He is survived by: his children, Ashley Smith and April Watkins (Kyzer Bonnoitt); his sisters, Myra Anderson (Richard "Cuz") and Judy Locklair (Ricky); his stepson Wayne Burkett; his grandchildren, Caylen Smith (Alejandro Rodriguez), Kendall Smith and Bailey Smith; his great grandchildren, Livia and Christopher; and his nephew Little Ricky Locklair.
