With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Preston Gene Moody (Darlington, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 30, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Preston Gene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Preston Gene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Moody and Tessie Sweat Moody; and his sister Dollie Moody. He is survived by: his sons, Chris Moody (Becky) of Berea, KY and Gene Moody of Abilene, TX; and his sister Bobbie Jean Blackmon of Darlington.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grove Hill Cemetery (405 S Warley St, Darlington, SC 29532). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Church, 1413 East McIver Road, Darlington, SC 29532.
