She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Bell Lawrence Joint and Monroe Joint, Sr.; her son Ronard "Squirt" Joint; her siblings, Willie Michael Lawrence, Mary Ella Joint, Monroe "Shortman" Joint, Jr. and Elizabeth "Plum" Jones; and her niece Jackqueline.
She is survived by: her niece Pamela Joint Thomas; her nephew Michael Nikita Joint; her siblings, Bernard Joint (Yvonne) of Darlington, SC, Sammie Lee Joint of Darlington, SC, Ernest Joint, Sr. (Sheila) of Darlington, SC, Levern Joint of Darlington, SC, Emma Lowery (Morris) of Darlington, SC, Linda Joint of Darlington, SC and Elaine Smith of Darlington, SC; her sister-in-law Sharon Joint; and her close friends, Patricia Lowe and Corinthian Smith.
Mary received her formal education in the Darlington County Public schools graduating from Rosenwald High School in 1981 where she remained an active member of the Rosenwald Alumni Foundation.
