He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ella Blathers; his sons, Luther Derrick Hamlin III (Christa) and Nicholas Blathersboth (Takenia) of Darlington, SC; his siblings, Mary Ellen Cottingham of Darlington, SC, Louise Taylor of Darlington, SC, Willie Bernard Blathers of Darlington, SC and Harry James of Charlotte, NC; his sisters-in-law, Ernestine Ledbetter and Alice Ledbetter of Darlington, SC; his grandchildren, Derika Hamlin, Derrick Hamlin, Mary Hamlin, Ja'Coreaunte Blathers, NiQuasha Blathers, Jayden Blathers, Jayla Blathers and Jamari Blathers; his great grandchildren, JaCoreaunte Blathers, Jr., Jahail Blathers and Jermiah Blathers; and his aunt Minnie Lee George of Darlington, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
