She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Chappell and Eva Mae Porter Chappell; her husband George W. Abbott; her son George Walter "Walt" Abbott, III; and her brothers, John Henry, Phillip E. Chappell, William P. Chappell, Rudolph C. Chappell, Warren J. Chappell and Marvin S. Chappell.
She is survived by: her daughter Suzan Pigford (Harry); her grandsons, William Preston James, Jr., John Abbott "Jake" James (Maddy Pforr), Marshall Douglas Pigford and Geoffrey Walter Pigford; her brothers, Curwood P. Chappell and Melton C. Chappell; and her sister-in-law Janie Chappell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
