He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt Gainey and Geneva Cline Gainey. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Gainey, Blanche Gainey (Heywood), Ronnie Gainey (Anita) and Lela Tyner; and his close friend Mike Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
