With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jo Ann Boiter Morgan of Darlington, South Carolina, born in Piedmont, South Carolina, who passed away on October 4, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Boiter and Katie Garrison Boiter. She is survived by: her husband George R. Morgan, Jr.; and her children, Ed Aiken (Resa) of Columbus, NC, Beth McCallister of Lake City, SC, George R. Morgan, III of Warrenton, VA and Curran Morgan of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and many close cousins and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Historical Preservation Society, PO Box 284, Piedmont, SC 29673; First Baptist Church, 8 First Baptist Church Rd., Piedmont, SC 29673; or St. John's Church, 252 S. Dargan St., Florence, SC 29506.

“Sad to hear of JoAnn's passing. My sympathies to the family. JoAnn and I were lifelong friends growing up in Piedmont and attending school as classmates 1st through 12th grades. She was always very friendly and a good student. In recent years she has kept our Piedmont group together by arranging and hosting periodic meals and parties. She will be missed by many people.
