He was predeceased by: his parents, Lacey Taylor and Lulu Taylor; and his brothers, Carnell Austin, Sr. and James Austin. He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Taylor; his children, Bruce Taylor (Katrina) of North Charleston, SC, LaShawn Taylor of Darlington, SC, George Taylor, Jr. (Latoya) of Charlotte, NC and Debra Taylor of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings, Arthur of Tallahassee, FL, Alex of Tallahassee, FL, Charles Austin of Tallahassee, FL, Alexander Austin of Kansas City, MO, Alice Adele (Fred) of Tallahassee, FL, Kimberly Austin of Tallahassee, FL, Cecilia Mitchel of Tallahassee, FL and Terri Rashad of Niceville, Florida; and his siblings-in-law, Lillian McClain of Darlington, SC, Annie Mae Austin of Tallahassee, FL, Joyce Richardson of Florence, SC, Cleve Frierson of Darlington, SC and Moses McPhail of Hartsville, SC. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
