He was predeceased by: his parents, William Julius Poerschmann and Elizabeth Poerschmann; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Gullick and Barbara Poerschmann. He is survived by: his sons, Steven Poerschmann (Sheryl) of Canton, GA and Robert Poerschmann (Treva) of Sumter, SC; his grandchildren, Jami Matula (Brian), Christopher Poerschmann (Angela), Samantha Briseno (Michael), Brian Poershmann and Matthew Poershmann; and his great grandchildren, Caitleigh, Easten, Raelynn and Isabella.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bullock Funeral Home (1190 Wilson Hall Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel (1190 Wilson Hall Rd, Sumter, SC 29150). The inurnment will be held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ft Jackson National Cemetery.
