He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest David Mims and Rosa Scott Mims. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude Mallard Mims; his children, Pat Weatherford of Eutawville, Donald W. Mims of Cross and J. David Mims (Mickie) of Cross; his sisters, Mary Bessinger of Charleston, Frances Lowe of Charleston, Elva Whitfield of Pratt, KS and Dolly Davis of Cross; his grandchildren, Shane Mims, D. J. Mims, Rodney Weatherford and Stacey Smith; and his great grandchildren, Trey Smith and Michael Weatherford.
