He was predeceased by: his parents, John Prestley Smith and Carrie Linda Thompson Smith; and his sister Tina Pugh. He is survived by: his daughters, Donna L. Brown and Julieanne G. Smith; his grandchildren, Charles W. Smith Sr., D. Brooks Brown, Jr. (Shelly), John T. Brown and F. Miles Smith; his great grandchildren, Charles A. Smith and Landon G. Smith; and also, Rita E. Neal of CrossHill, SC, Stacy Brown of Atlanta, GA and Ashley Nelson of Newberry, SC.
