She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin E. Simpson and Irene Skelton Simpson; and her siblings, Mickey Simpson, Archie Simpson and Renee Faulkenberry.
She is survived by: her husband David M. Bates; her children, Robert Sutton and Jennifer Sutton; her grandchildren, Deborah, David, Caitlin, Cameron, Emmalee, Aiden, Jaxon and Caleb; her great grandchild Faith Ladd; and her sisters, Patsy Ann White, Wanda Thompson and Elizabeth Simpson.
