It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia Newton (Cowpens, South Carolina), who passed away on February 18, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sullivan Scruggs and Fannie Earls Scruggs; and her siblings, Henry Scruggs, Charles Scruggs, Junior Scruggs, Glen Scruggs, Daisy Rhinehart, Vera Scruggs, Dolly Scruggs, Eunice Jones, Virginia Jones and Maggie Addis.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Bobby Newton (Tonya) of Boiling Springs, SC and Wanda Denise Newton of Boiling Springs, SC; her brother Willard Scruggs of Cowpens; her grandchildren, Hayden Elizabeth Newton and Madison Grace Newton; her great grandchild Stella Rose Crocker; and her niece Brenda Wyatt of Cowpens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mountain View Baptist Church, "Children's Ministry", 5555 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
