He was predeceased by: his parents, Beasley Welch and Etheline Anderson Welch; and his sister Joann Welch. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Welch (Ashley) of Georgetown and Angel Nicole Leviner (Kevin) of Florence; his grandchildren, Braxton Nathan Welch and Bristol Nicole Welch; his siblings, Tammy Welch of Coward and Tony Welch of Coward; his close friend Billie Ann Powell of Coward; his father-in-law Billy Powell of Coward; his sister-in-law Tammy Cantey; and his stepfather Freddie McGee of Coward. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
