He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Prescott Kirby and Emmie Geddings Kirby; and his siblings, Pansy Cantey, Bill Kirby and J. D. Kirby.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Braveboy Kirby of Coward; his son Steven Kirby (Christy) of Lake City; and his grandsons, Rhett Kirby of Lake City and Dawson Kirby of Lake City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
