He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Murphy and Ruby Murphy; and his siblings, Oswald Izlar, Dawn Brockman and Jessie Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Murphy of Cottageville, SC; his children, Shawn Murphy (June) of Ladson, SC, Michael Murphy (Megan) of Summerville, SC, Derrick Murphy (Brooke) of Cottageville, SC and Lesa Hardee (Rob) of Walterboro, SC; his siblings, John Sain (Linda) of Jacksonville, FL, Frank Sain of Cottageville, SC, Jay Murphy (Myrna) of Summerville, SC and Caroline Miller of Summerville, SC; and his grandchildren, Shonda, Shanna, Austin, Ashlyn, Bayleigh, Tony, Elaina, Levi, Lucas and Lily. He is also survived by one great-grandchild and eight bonus grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parks Funeral Home (130 W 1st N St, Summerville, SC 29483). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at the Fox Cemetery (2771 Wesley Grove Rd, Cottageville, SC 29435).
