He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Shuler and Betty S. Shuler. He is survived by: his wife Janice Padgett Shuler; his children, Star Lynn Shuler (Myrna) and Jared "Spanky" Shuler (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Jared "Bubba" Shuler, Jr., Mason Shuler and Addyson Shuler; his brother-in-law Jay Padgett (Terry); and his siblings, Cathy Crosby (Tony), Judy Felder (Kenny) and Jimmy Shuler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
