She was predeceased by: her parent Otis Blanie; her siblings, Otis B. Chestnut, Jr., James E. Chestnut, Winford D. Chestnut, Iva C. Montgomery, Lula C. Hymer, Betty C. Chestnut and Patricia C. Hewitt; and her former husband Billy W. Altman.

She is survived by: her parent Foster Delma Todd Chestnut; her siblings-in-law, Eugene Chestnut, Weldon Gordy and Gloria S. Chestnut; and her close friends, Susan Jones, Jackie Hardee and Gladys Lilly.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one's choice.
