He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Hudson Ruffner and Betty Fry Ruffner Pruett; his former wife Donna Dickey Ruffner; his stepfather Lawrence Pruett; his sons, Thomas Ruffner and Larry Ruffner; and his brother Larry Pruett.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Wilkes Mew Ruffner; his children, Jonathan Mew (Jessica) of Myrtle Beach, Christopher Mew Sr. (Nicole) of Conway, Sherry Ruffner Lovett (Carl) of Latta and Mary Ruffner Darcy (Tim) of Latta; and his sisters, Patti Ruffner Tucker (Buddy) of Georgia, Barbara Pruett Sebay (Phil) of Georgia and Vicki Pruett O'Brien (Craig) of Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; one great grandchild and many other family and friends.
