She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Margie Mae Smith (Croxton) and Edward Layfette Smith of Conway, SC; her son Edd G. "Barney" Barnes; her brother Edward Smith; her nieces and nephews, Tamara Hughes Barnes, Luanne (Jeffrey Stauffer) of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, Charles Barnes (Vicki Bee Barnes) of Ladson, SC, Ashley Margilyn "Margie" Blogin (Curtis N. Blogin) of Isla Mujeres and Mexico; her children, Brandon Stauffer (Claire), Randall Stauffer (Alison) and Dr. Romie Barnes (Rodney Hancock); her stepchildren, Chuck (Pam DuBose) of Powhatan and Debra (Robert Barnes) of Lexington; and her children, Jennifer (Brandon Rush), Alex DuBose, Robbie Barnes, Catherine Pierce (Mark) and Dr. Kirsten Barnes.
Margaret resided at The Village of Summerville for the past 2 years, where she received loving care as her vascular dementia and Alzheimers progressed.
