He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Benton and Mary Keith Benton; his sisters, Dixie Cline and Mary Brimble; and his pet Nikki.

He is survived by: his wife Bea of Conway; his daughters, Becky Benton Brummett of Conway and Beth Benton of Conway; his grandchildren, Carter and Morgan; his brother Jim Benton; and his stepbrother Fred Thurston, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
