She was predeceased by: her parents, John Havey Holmes and Lula Mae Chestnut Holmes; her husband Hoyt Blackwell; and her brothers, Harvey Holmes and Joseph Holmes.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Branton (Ronnie) and Karen Johnson (Andy) of Conway; and her grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Mary), Erin Johnson (Brian), Eric Branton (Erika), Joel Johnson (Jean Trenholm), Evan Branton (Sammie Jo), Jarid Johnson (Courtney) and Lyn O'Donnell (Richard). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
