He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Mills and Edith Mills; his former wife Myrtle Crews Mills; his daughter Sabrina K. Mills of Socastee; and his siblings, William A. Mills, Jessie C. Mills, Alice Marlowe, Edna M. Oliver, Oneta Wilson and Betty Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Pearline Brown Mills; his son William "Billy" E. Mills; his grandchildren, Jillian Mills of Myrtle Beach, William Everett Mills and Taylor Crews Mills of Conway; his stepchildren, Mark Brown of Murrells Inlet, Rita Edge of Myrtle Beach and Suzanne Cook of Murrells Inlet; his great grandchild James Benton Todd; and his sister Mag Tyner of Socastee. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a memorial contribution in James's name to Seaside Community Church, 10125 Frontage Road, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
