He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolphus Hooks and Thelma Ray Hooks; his aunt Jane Hooks; his siblings, Eugene "Gene" Hooks, Carl Hooks, Wendell Hooks, William Hooks and Alice Faye Shelly of James; and his cousin Lenue Hooks.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Price Hooks; his children, Alicia Hooks Hollerbach (Maci) and Kelly Hooks; his grandson Hunter Hucks; his siblings, David Hooks (Teresa), Brad Hooks (Faye), Michael Hooks, Julia Anderson (Wallace), Dinah Lane (Glen), Bonnie Johnson and Pat Small (Randy); his sisters-in-law, Kathy Price, Kathy Hooks and Betty Johnson (Larry); and his pets, Memphis, Whiskey, Lincoln and Millie.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Watson Funeral Services Chapel (2300 US-378, Conway, SC 29527). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
