It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Williams Sr. (Conway, South Carolina), born in Florence, South Carolina, who passed away on May 15, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Jean McKiever Williams; and his daughter Sandra Williams Brown. He is survived by: his children, George, Jr. (Deirdre), Karen Williams Beaty (Olin) and Charles Williams; his grandchildren, Toni Brown King (Jerrett), George and Garrett; his great grandchildren, Jaiden, Raine and Liric; and his brother Robert Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

He was the first African-American teacher at Coastal Carolina University and created foundation programs for what is now the thriving Office of Multicultural Student Services.
