He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Aiken Wise and Thelma Louise Sloan Wise; his sisters, Emma Jo Peake and Maxine Meadows; and his nieces and nephews, Marlene Godwin, Terry Carpenter, Joseph Meadows and Russell Meadows.
He is survived by: his sister Melba Carpenter (Wayne); his nieces, Sharon Jackson, Debra Durrell, Michelle Eller and Glenda Meadows; his aunt Sarah Coleman; and his friend Shannon Green. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, great nephews, and great cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery (1010 Old Sloan Rd, Columbia, SC 29223).
