It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Victor Emmanuel Grimes in Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Euris McMillan Grimes (Trinidad) and Tobago; and his brother-in-law Trevor. He is survived by : his wife Sharon Baron; his children, Aisha Barnwell, Saidah Grimes and Torron Grimes; his grandchildren, Torron Grimes Jr., Luke Barnwell and Nicole Barnwell; and his siblings, Merlyn Thomas (Michael), Eileen Thomas (Trevor), Mervin Grimes and Alexander Grimes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, coworkers.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel (3926 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family invites those interested to make donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or South Carolina Oncology Associates for cancer research.
