With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vernon Capers Jacobs of Columbia, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 18, 2025 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilton Jacobs and Naomi Wilson Jacobs; his sons, Billy Joe Goins, Jr. and Terry Dwayne Goins, Sr.; and his brother Beverly Jacobs.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Jacobs; his daughters, Sharon Shealey and Renee Everett (Todd); his daughter-in-law Kerryann Ratzlaff; his grandchildren, Lauren Shealey, Jake Shealey, Rachel Coward (Ricky), Ansley Player (Bobby), Corbyn Player, Wayne Goins, Ella Everett and Jesse Everett; his great grandchildren, Piper Watford and Dax Watford; and his sister Kathy Williams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Bush River Memorial Gardens (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
