He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Asbill and Mae Kneece Asbill; his wife Agnes Asbill; his children, Randy Asbill, Debbie Asbill and Nancy Kelly; his grandson Keith Thompson; and his siblings, Henderson Asbill, Crosson Asbill, Louise Senterfeit, Evelyene Waters, Inez Smith, Elise Anderson, Margaret Leaphart and Fannie Miller.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Wayne Asbill (Donna) and Wanda Thompson Hall (Ted); and his grandchildren, Andrea Kelly, Jennifer Smith, Duane Asbill, David Kelly, Tara Asbill and Michael Thompson. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren and eight great- great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Bush River Memorial Gardens (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212).
