He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward Lee Cooper and Jean Gay Cooper; and his siblings, Maureen, Sylvia and Ricky Cooper.

He is survived by: his wife Roxanne Cooper; his stepson Derrell A. Lambert, Jr.; his daughter Hannah Hubbard; his grandchildren, Clayton, Christopher Lambert, Noah and Savannah Hubbard; his brother Greg Barbour (Pamela); and his aunt Freddie Hobbs.
