He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin Helblig and Mary Torina Davis; his wife Betty Faye Helblig; and his daughter Misty M. Helblig. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Helblig, Roddney Helblig and Richard Helblig; and his grandchildren, Zach Mains and Mary Elizabeth Helblig. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Memorial Gardens of Columbia (9301 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, SC 29203).
