She was predeceased by: her mother Mary; her siblings, Hugh "Rass" Kyle, Eugene "Tobe" Kyle, James "Fez" Kyle, Mack "June" Kyle, Jr., Sam Kyle, Edward "Pud" Kyle and Edna Kyle Easley (George E. Johnson, Sr.); and her children, George E. Johnson, Jr. and Margaret Johnson Winston.
She is survived by: her significant other George E.; her children, Rene Johnson Simon, Helena Johnson, Sandra Johnson and Ronald Johnson (Nadine); her grandchildren, Nicole Rankin (Al), Ashley Monroe, Rachel McInnis (Will), Mary Elizabeth Johnson, Earnest, Miles Simon and Edward "Mac" Johnson; her great grandchildren, Xavier Comer, Theophilus Davis, III, Alana Davis, Brooklyn Rankin and London Davis; and her close friend Janie Phillips (Ed). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and cherished friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Palmer Memorial Chapel - Columbia (1200 Fontaine Pl, Columbia, SC 29223). Viewing was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hope Baptist Church (2117 Clemson Rd, Columbia, SC 29229). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29223).
