We bid farewell to Marion Lawny of Columbia, South Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 28, 2025 at the age of 76. Marion touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Appa and Pauline Wright Appa. She is survived by: her husband George Lawny; her children, Alicia Lawny, Christina Marte (Mike), Nicholas Lawny (Ashley) and Jennifer Haynes; her grandchildren, Hali Marte, Justin Marte, Grayson Lawny, Peyton Lawny, McKenzie Lawny, Zachary Haynes, Rebecca Haynes and Emily Haynes; and her sister Angela Cavanaugh (Michael Appa). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
