He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Matthews and Dorothy Kennedy Matthews; and his siblings, Dorothy Sue and Gerald. He is survived by: his wife Linda S. Matthews; and also, Kelly, Jerry Kirby, Lily, Emilyn and Kenan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Herb's honor to First Baptist Church Columbia- The Transformers Sunday School Class.
