He was predeceased by: his father Carl E.; his son Michael Robert; and his siblings, Richard Carl, Donald E. Phelps and Geraldine McDonald.
He is survived by: his children, Ann McKinness, Diane Phelps Simmons (Curtis), Brian (Tracy Phelps), Chris (Carol Phelps) and Elizabeth Dukes (Chris); his grandchildren, Jason, Jess, Cameron, Christa, Casey, Carl (Lauren), Eric, Melissa, Madeline (Nico) and Nick; and his great grandchild Aidan.
