He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Cason and Nannie Irene Millen Armstrong; his wife Nancy McCarter Armstrong; his daughter Patricia Ann Armstrong; and his siblings, Lucille Morgan, Irene Putman, Nancy Kelly and Bobby Armstrong.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Armstrong (Cherry) and Susan Wilson (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Bailey Daves (Steven), Brett Wilson (Sandy) and Clint Armstrong (Kayla); his great grandchildren, Cameron Wilson, Lane Daves, Cole Daves, Maci Daves, Brycen Wilson, Grey Armstrong and Nash Armstrong; and his siblings, Betty Ruth Cooke, Kenneth Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, Mac Armstrong and Bill Armstrong. He is also survived by several sisters- and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
