He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Claude, Sr. and Elizabeth Waters Sligh; his daughter Sharon Sligh Bagwell; his former wife Joy Rogers Sligh; and his siblings, Frank B. Sligh, Charles Edward Sligh, Thomas Claude Sligh, Jr., John Robert Sligh, Lewis F. Sligh, Audrey Sligh Agnew of Newberry and Margaret Sligh Shealy of Newberry.
He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Sligh Adair (Rick) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Grae Adair of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Christian Adair of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Walter "Lee" Wilson, Jr. (Lani) of Butler, TN; his great grandchildren, Talulah Wilson of Butler, TN and Ethan Aspley of Butler, TN; and his sister Marion S. Bowers of Prosperity, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
