He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Meeks and Frances Holmes Meeks; his brothers, James William Meeks, Kenneth Edwin Meeks and Thomas Eugene Meeks; his brother-in-law George Madden; and his great grandchild Micah Holden.
He is survived by: his daughter Leslie Meeks Holden (Jerry) of Clinton; his sister Susie Meeks Madden (Pop) of Laurens; his grandchildren, Jessy Holden (Heather) and Lynsey Holden; his great grandchildren, Cason Holden and Adalyn Holden; and his sisters-in-law, Gail Meeks and Patty Meeks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
