It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joe Robinson Giles Sr. (Clinton, South Carolina), born in Greenwood, South Carolina, who passed away on February 6, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Franklin and Jodie Robinson Giles; and his siblings, Doug Giles and Runette Weeks. He is survived by: his children, Joe R. Giles, Jr. of Greenwood, Jim Horton (Ana) of Pawleys Island, Melanie Giles Reid (Oscar) of Due West and Marty Osborn (Rocky) of Anderson; his grandchildren, Lemuel H. Reid of Clemson, Joel R. Reid of Due West, Hannah C. Reid of Due West, Ashley Randolph (Ty) of Honea Path, Mary Evan Giles of Greenville, Chaz Giles of Greenwood, Jake Horton of Pawleys Island and Chandler Horton of Pawleys Island; and his sister-in-law Mary C. Stokes (Tommy) of Spartanburg. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
