He is survived by: his sons, Bryant Cheeks (Daphne) and Antonio Abanthey; his stepdaughters, Mary Hester (Willard), Rosie Harris, Elaine Foggie, Linda Singleton, Ann Stoddard (George), Tracy Bluford (Henry) and Sharon McBeth (Steven); and his siblings, Willie Gary (Geraldine), James Dennis Gary (Fern) and Resa Lee Richer. He is also survived by six grandchildren; thirteen step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; thirty four step great grandchildren.
