She was predeceased by: her parents, W. T. "Jack" and Madge Sorrow Simmons; her daughter Debra Swayngham; and her siblings, Bobby Simmons and Iris Bragg.

She is survived by: her sons, David B. Adams (Dana) of Clinton and Dale T. Adams of Joanna; her sister Judy Simmons Weaver (Donald) of Kinards; her grandchildren, Jennifer Francis, Julianne Webb (Bobby) and Jon David Adams (Rachel); and her great grandchildren, Devin Francis, Austin Francis, Tori Head, Lizzi Head and Zoey Lipford.
