It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Candice Poindexter of Cleveland, South Carolina, born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2020, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Woodall and Helen Cooper Woodall. She is survived by: her husband Ricky Poindexter; her son Jonathan Michael Poindexter (Wendy); and her brother Richard Woodall. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Suite A, Greenville, SC 29615, or Feed My Sheep C/O Reedy River Baptist Church, 871 N. Hwy 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC 29617.

“I went to high school with Candy and we graduated together in 1969. One of the sweetest people you could ever meet as well as very smart and carried a beautiful smile. We both had families who own a home at Pawleys Island. I thought it was so cool that she had a surfboard so I also bought one and tried my hand at surfing....never as good as her. She will be soooo missed but not forgotten. My prayers and thoughts go with her family, friends and the students she impacted. Cely Clarke”
